Metallics SWP1212 – Frequently Asked Questions
1) Do I need separate pins and clips for Metallics SWP1212 ceiling hanger wire?
No. Each 12 foot wire ships with the drive pin and the clip already tied in place. You shoot the pin into the deck and clip off the other end at the height you need, so no loose fasteners or field tying are required.
2) Is 12 foot ceiling wire longer than I need for a typical drop ceiling or conduit run?
Usually, and that is the point of ordering it. The SWP1212 gives you 12 feet of wire per hanger so one part number covers short drops off a low deck and long drops in open-plenum or high-bay space. Cut or take up the slack at the clip and the excess is trimmed on site rather than requiring a second length.
3) What trades use Metallics SWP1212 pre-tied ceiling wire?
Electrical contractors hanging fixtures, raceway and conduit, plus HVAC and ceiling crews supporting duct and suspended grid. It is an electrical hanging wire, bought in 100-count packs for production work where a crew sets many hangers per floor.
