Metallics SWP812 – Frequently Asked Questions
1) What comes in a box of Metallics SWP812 ceiling wire hangers?
The SWP812 is supplied 100 to a pack, each piece an 8 foot pre-tied ceiling support wire with a pin on one end and a clip on the other. Because it is pre-tied, there is no field looping or twisting at the top connection. Ordering code is SWP812.
2) Is the Metallics SWP812 ceiling wire cut to length or on a spool I have to cut myself?
These are pre-cut 8 foot lengths, not bulk wire you cut on site. Each piece already has the pin end and the clip end attached and tied, so a hanger is ready to shoot and hook as it comes out of the pack.
3) What is the 8 foot ceiling wire with a pin and clip actually used for?
It is a hanger wire for suspended work overhead: the pin end fastens into the structural deck or concrete with a powder or gas tool, and the clip end picks up what is being hung below. At 8 feet it suits deeper plenums where a shorter hanger will not reach the ceiling grid or raceway line.
