1) Does the ALB-8 come with a cover, or do I have to order one separately?
It ships with one die cast aluminum cover, catalog number CV-6. The cover screws are retained stainless steel, so they stay with the cover when you open it up in the field.
2) Is a gasket included with the ALB-8, and which gasket do I order for a wet location?
The gasket is a separate item. Two are listed for this body: GKN-6 neoprene and GKV-6 composition. The threaded body plus cover and gasket is what makes the assembly weather resistant, so on any outdoor or damp run you need to add one of those.
3) Can I order the ALB-8 body, cover and gasket as one catalog number?
Yes. The packaged body-cover-gasket combination is catalog number DALB-8-CG. Ordering the plain ALB-8 gets you the body with its die cast cover only, sold each.
4) Will the ALB-8 work with EMT?
No. It is a threaded body made for rigid and IMC conduit. EMT is unthreaded, so you would need EMT-specific fittings or a threaded adapter on the EMT before it could land on this body.
5) What material is the ALB-8 conduit body, and is it RoHS compliant?
Die cast aluminum, body and cover both, and it is RoHS compliant. Aluminum is the usual choice on rigid and IMC systems where weight matters and you are not in a highly corrosive process environment.
