Two sizes are offered: the 4 inch connector is part number 722DC, and the 1 inch is 773DC. Both are the same straight squeeze-type design for flexible metal conduit, so order by the trade size of the FMC you are terminating.
2) Can I use this squeeze connector on liquidtight or armored cable, or only FMC?
It is built for FMC (flexible metal conduit) only. Liquidtight flexible metal conduit needs a sealing-gland LFMC fitting, and AC or MC cable needs a cable connector rated for that cable type. Using an FMC squeeze connector on liquidtight gives you no liquid seal.
3) Is this connector approved for hazardous or classified locations?
No. The 722DC squeeze connector is rated for ordinary, non-hazardous locations. For a Class I or Class II classified area you need an explosionproof flexible coupling or fitting listed for that classification, not a squeeze connector.
4) Do I need an insulated throat connector, or will the non-insulated version pass inspection?
This is a non-insulated squeeze connector. For most conductor installs the NEC requires either a fitting with an insulated throat or a separate insulating bushing where conductors 4 AWG and larger enter an enclosure, so on large-conductor runs through the 4 inch fitting you will typically need to add a bushing. On smaller conductor pulls the non-insulated throat is accepted.
5) Does a non-insulated zinc squeeze connector provide the ground path, or do I need a separate bonding jumper?
The zinc die cast body is non-insulated, so it maintains metal-to-metal continuity between the flex and the enclosure for grounding and bonding. Note that FMC is only recognized as an equipment ground within limited length and ampacity conditions under the NEC, so on longer runs or larger feeders you still pull an equipment grounding conductor.
6) Will this connector meet code on a Canadian job as well as a US one?
It is built to NEC/CEC standards, so it is specified for both US National Electrical Code and Canadian Electrical Code work in ordinary locations.
7) Do I need special tools to install this squeeze type FMC connector?
