Match the finish to the hinge you are capping, not to the pulls, since the tip sits right on the hinge barrel. Unlacquered Brass is the one that will patina over time; PVD Polished Brass is the one that holds its color.

The CHBT is sold each, and a hinge takes two tips, one top and one bottom. Count your hinges, double it. A 20-door kitchen on two hinges per door is 40 hinges, so 80 tips. Ordering by the door instead of by the hinge is the usual way people come up short.

Solid brass through the body, with the finish applied over it. That matters on a tiny threaded part: a cast pot-metal tip strips at the 4 x 0.5mm thread far sooner than brass does, and these get taken on and off whenever a door is pulled for painting.

Deltana classes the CHBT as residential. It is a decorative cabinet hinge tip, so for hospitality or institutional millwork where cabinet doors take constant traffic, treat it as a finish item rather than anything carrying load, and expect to keep spares for the ones that walk off.

Purely the shape of the visible cap on the hinge pin, nothing functional. The CHBT is the ball profile, a rounded sphere, and Deltana offers the same cabinet finial in other tip shapes on the same 4 x 0.5mm thread. If you are matching existing cabinetry, pick the profile already on the other doors; if you are starting fresh, the ball is the neutral choice against traditional and transitional door styles alike.
