Deltana CHWT Cabinet Hinge Finial, Windsor Tip, Solid Brass

They are sold each, one finial per unit. A hinge takes a tip at both ends of the barrel, so a single hinge needs two and a pair of cabinet doors with two hinges per door needs eight. Count the barrel ends, not the doors.

Ten finishes: PVD Polished Brass, Polished Brass, Unlacquered Brass, Antique Brass, Polished Nickel, Brushed Nickel, Antique Nickel, Polished Chrome, Brushed Chrome, and Oil Rubbed Bronze. If you are matching an existing run of cabinets, order the finial in the same finish code as the hinges. Unlacquered brass will darken with handling over time; PVD polished brass is the plated version that holds its color.

Each Windsor tip stands 5/8 inch high on a 5/16 inch diameter, so it adds a little over half an inch above the top of the hinge barrel. That matters on inset cabinet doors under a face frame or a shelf, where a tall tip can foul the opening above.

Yes, the Windsor tip is sold individually, so a single lost tip is a single part. Match the finish to the hinge it goes on. Bear in mind an original unlacquered or antique brass tip that has aged in place will not look identical to a new one out of the box.

Solid brass, both the material and the substrate. That is why it is offered in an unlacquered brass version, which only works on a solid brass base that can patina.

The CHWT is a residential grade decorative cabinet finial. For millwork in an apartment unit, a hotel room casegood, or a residential kitchen it is the right part. For a commercial cabinet spec that calls for a rated hinge, it is a decorative tip and carries no functional rating.

It is purely the profile of the decorative cap on the end of the hinge barrel. The Windsor tip is a turned, tapered shape; ball and urn tips are the rounder and more ornate alternatives. All of them thread onto the same hinge, so the choice is styling, not fit, as long as the thread matches. Deltana's cabinet finials use a 5 x 0.8mm thread.
