Plain bearing hinges are meant for light interior doors; a heavy or frequently cycled door wants a ball bearing hinge. For a commercial or rated opening, specify a bearing hinge that carries the grade and listing your spec calls for.

Leaf thickness is .157 inch, so the mortise in the door edge and jamb is cut to that depth, leaving the leaves flush with the surface and the barrel standing proud of the edge as a parliament hinge should. Set your router or chisel to .157 and the door will close without the leaves holding it off the stop.
