Deltana SWP4752 Switch Plate, Double Outlet, Solid Brass

The SWP4752 measures 4-1/2 x 2-3/4 inches overall and is cut for two duplex receptacles side by side. That is the standard two-gang footprint, so it drops onto a two-gang box with a pair of duplex outlets already in it. If you have a single duplex, you want a one-gang plate instead.

Outlets only. The SWP4752 is punched for two duplex receptacles, so a toggle switch or a decora device will not pass through the openings. Deltana's switch and plug plate line runs a range of templates, so for a two gang switch opening or a mixed switch and outlet opening you need the plate cut for that configuration, not this one.

Solid brass through the body, not a plated steel or plastic core. The substrate is brass and the finish is applied over it, which is why it takes finishes like oil rubbed bronze and antique brass that develop the way a brass plate does rather than chipping off a shell.

Eight finishes: PVD polished brass, polished brass, antique brass, oil rubbed bronze, brushed nickel, antique nickel, polished chrome, and brushed chrome. If you are matching existing Deltana levers or hinges in a unit, the PVD polished brass is the one that holds its shine over time versus the standard lacquered polished brass.

It is rated commercial, and the solid brass body is why. Brass plates hold up in corridors and guest rooms where a plastic plate cracks at the screw boss. For a property manager standardizing a floor, the same 4-1/2 x 2-3/4 double outlet plate is available in all eight finishes, so you can run one look across the building.

Pick by template first, then finish. The SWP4752 is the double outlet template at 4-1/2 x 2-3/4 inches; the rest of the openings in the unit (single switch, single outlet, combination) each need their own template from the same Deltana plate family. Order every one of them in the same finish code and the whole unit reads as one set. All eight Deltana finishes are offered across the plate line.

Deltana supplies these plates with screws finished to match the plate, which is the point of buying a brass plate over a stock one. Sold each, so a two gang location takes one SWP4752, not two pieces.

Brass plates like the SWP4752 are flat stamped with no deep skirt, so they sit tight to the wall surface. If your device is set proud because of thick tile or a shallow-set box, shim the receptacle ears back or reset the box flush before mounting, otherwise the 4-1/2 x 2-3/4 plate will rock on the device rather than sitting on the wall.
