Solid brass. The WBR1052H is brass through the substrate, not a plated steel wire frame, which is what keeps it from rusting out in a wet shower enclosure. Finish is applied over that brass in four options: PVD Polished Brass, Polished Nickel, Brushed Nickel, and Polished Chrome. For a property manager repeating the same unit across a building of showers, the brass body is the part that decides service life; the finish is the part that has to match the rest of the trim.

Mounting hardware ships in the box with the basket. What is not included is the anchor appropriate to your substrate: if you are fastening into tile over cement board or into a fiberglass surround with no blocking behind it, plan on a toggle or a tile anchor rated for the wet location. Into solid blocking, the supplied hardware is what you need.

The hook is integral to the WBR1052H, not an add-on. It gives you a hang point under the basket for a loofah, a razor, or a washcloth, which is why this version gets specified over a plain rectangular basket in hotel and multi-family baths where guests need somewhere to hang something without a second piece of trim on the wall. If you do not want the hook, you want the plain rectangular shallow basket instead, not this model number.

Commercial rated. Deltana lists the WBR1052H in its HD (heavy duty) bath basket series and classes it for commercial use, which is the distinction that matters for hospitality, multi-family, and student housing where the same basket gets loaded and grabbed daily. Combined with the solid brass body, it is the spec to standardize on across a floor of identical bathrooms rather than a residential wire basket.

Brushed Nickel is one of the four finishes on the WBR1052H, alongside Polished Nickel, Polished Chrome, and PVD Polished Brass. If you are matching a fleet of openings, the PVD Polished Brass is the one worth noting: PVD is a harder deposited finish than lacquered brass and is the version to pick when the brass tone has to survive daily cleaning chemicals in a commercial bath.

It is the shallow profile, 4-7/8 inches on the short dimension, so it suits soap, razors, washcloths and small bottles rather than tall pump bottles that want a deep caddy. If your spec is full-size salon bottles in a hotel shower, a deeper basket is the better call. For a hook-equipped shallow shelf at the standard reach height, this is the right piece.

It is a wall-mounted basket that fastens through supplied mounting hardware into the wall behind it, so it belongs on tile, stone, or a solid surround, not on a frameless glass panel. Glass installers looking to add storage inside an enclosure should be sourcing a glass-mount or over-the-door caddy instead; drilling a shower panel for this basket is not something the product is set up for.

A soap dish is a single-bar holder for one cake of soap.
