DEWALT 6304SD-PWR – Frequently Asked Questions
1) How is the DEWALT 6304SD-PWR Smart Di+ anchor installed?
The 6304SD-PWR drop-in anchor can be set two ways: with a manual setting tool, or with the Smart DI system driven by a hammer-drill. The hammer-drill route is what cuts the labor on a big anchor count compared with traditional drop-in anchors, which have to be hand-set one at a time.
2) Do I have to oversize the fixture hole to install this drop-in anchor?
No. The Smart Di+ anchor is designed to be installed through standard fixture holes, so you can drill and set through the part you are mounting rather than laying out the hole pattern separately.
3) Can the bolt be removed and reinstalled later for service work?
Yes. The 6304SD-PWR is an internally threaded anchor, so the bolt threads into the body and can be backed out and replaced during service without disturbing the anchor set in the concrete. That is the main reason crews pick an internally threaded drop-in over a wedge-style anchor on equipment that gets pulled for maintenance.
4) How do I verify the anchor is actually set before I load it?
The Smart Di+ carries a setting indicator, so a properly set anchor can be identified visually. That indication applies when the anchor is installed with the smart tool and smart bit; a manually set anchor is confirmed by the setting tool bottoming out instead.
5) Does the DEWALT 6304SD-PWR anchor come with the bolt or the setting tool?
The anchor body is the item. Threaded rod or bolts, and the manual setting tool or the Smart DI tool and bit, are separate purchases. Size your fastener to the 1/4 inch internal thread.
6) Is the 6304SD-PWR a battery or powered product?
No, it is a mechanical concrete anchor with no power source and no battery. The hammer-drill supplies the energy to set it; the anchor itself uses none.
