1) Will the Klein 935DAA digital angle gauge stick to a saw blade or a piece of conduit?
Yes. The 935DAA has a permanent rare-earth magnetic base that holds to saw blades, conduit, pipe, vents, ducts and other ferromagnetic surfaces. V-grooves machined into both the top and bottom faces let it seat on round stock like conduit or pipe without rocking, so you can read a bend angle right off the run. One caveat from Klein: for accurate blade bevel setting, the saw itself has to be perfectly level first.
2) What do the colored LEDs on the Klein 935DAA actually do?
The Angle Alert feature lets you set a target angle, then the three LEDs tell you how close you are without watching the numbers. Red means you are off, orange means you are getting there, green means you have hit the user-defined angle. Useful when your eyes are on the pipe bender or the blade instead of the display.
3) Can the Klein 935DAA be used as a plain digital level, not just an angle finder?
It works three ways. Measure or set an angle, check a relative angle using the zero calibration feature (zero it on an existing surface and read everything as a difference from that), or use it straight as a digital level. Dual ranges cover 0 to 90 degrees and 0 to 180 degrees.
4) Will the Klein 935DAA survive a jobsite, and can I read it overhead?
Rated IP54 for water and dust resistance and built to take a 6.6 foot (2 m) drop, with a PC/ABS plastic housing and TPR overmold. The reverse contrast display stays readable in bright sun or a dark crawlspace, and it auto-rotates when the gauge is upside down, so an overhead duct or an upside-down conduit run still reads right side up.
5) What batteries does the Klein 935DAA take, and does it warn you when they are low?
It runs on two 1.5 V AAA cells. There is no low battery alarm on the 935DAA, so if you are relying on it for a day of layout, carry a spare pair rather than counting on a warning.
