1) Will the Don-Jo 3 CW wrap around fit a 1-3/4 inch door?
No. The 3 CW is built for 1-3/8 inch door thickness only. A wrap around has to match the thickness of the door because it folds over the edge, so a plate cut for 1-3/8 inches will not close on a 1-3/4 inch door. 1-3/4 inch is the standard commercial door thickness and 1-3/8 inch is what you typically find on older interior and light commercial doors, so measure the edge before ordering rather than assuming.
2) My knob has a 2-3/8 inch backset. Can I use the Don-Jo 3 CW?
Not on a 2-3/8 inch backset door. The 2-1/8 inch hole in the 3 CW is punched for a 2-3/4 inch backset, so on a 2-3/8 inch prep the plate's hole sits closer to the door edge than your lock bore and the lockset will not pass through cleanly. 2-3/8 and 2-3/4 inches are the two usual cylindrical backsets. Measure from the door edge to the center of the existing lock hole and match that number to the plate.
3) Does the Don-Jo 3 CW work with a standard cylindrical knob or lever lock?
Yes, that is exactly what it is prepped for. The plate carries a 2-1/8 inch cross bore, which is the standard bore size for a cylindrical knob or lever set, plus a latch prep indent on the wrapped edge so the latch face seats where it should. The lockset comes out, the plate goes over the door edge with the bore lined up, and the lock reinstalls through the plate. Anything mortised, or a lock with a bore other than 2-1/8 inches, needs a different plate.
4) The door around the knob got kicked in and the wood is torn up. Will a Don-Jo 3 CW wrap around cover the damage?
It covers a 4-1/4 inch wide by 9 inch tall area on each face, centered on the lock bore, and it wraps the door edge so the damage at the latch is covered too. That is enough to hide and reinforce a torn up lock area on a 1-3/8 inch door. What it will not fix is a door that has split through the stile or a bore that is blown out so far the lock no longer has anything to clamp to. In that case the door itself is the repair, not the plate.
5) Can I use this wrap around on a door that has a deadbolt above the knob?
The 3 CW only takes care of the knob or lever. It has one 2-1/8 inch hole and stands 9 inches tall, so it wraps the cylindrical lock bore and nothing above it. If you need the deadbolt bore covered by the same plate, you need a taller wrap around drilled for both holes at the correct center to center spacing on your door. The 3 CW can still go on a door with a deadbolt, it just leaves the deadbolt bore uncovered.
