Dorma YR23 - 91/93/9400 Series Grade 1 Passage Function Exit Trim, Y Escutcheon, R Lever, Non-Keyed

The YR23 lever trim is built for the Dorma 9100, 9300 and 9400 Series exit devices, including the fire rated F9100, F9300 and F9400 versions. It works on rim, surface vertical rod and concealed vertical rod devices in those series. If your device is from a different Dorma series or another manufacturer, this trim is not the match.

Yes, handing matters. The YR23 comes as Left Hand Reverse or Right Hand Reverse. Exit devices hang on outswinging doors, which is why both options are reverse bevel. Stand outside the door: if the hinges are on your right and the door swings away from you, that is right hand reverse.

A pull only gives you a handle to grab, so the door has to be unlatched or dogged to get in. The YR23 Y escutcheon with R lever actually retracts the latch of the 9100, 9300 or 9400 device when you turn it, so the opening works as a normal passage door from the outside while the push bar handles egress. Choose the lever trim when people need to enter routinely; choose a pull when the door is exit only.

You need one YR23 per leaf, and each leaf gets its own handing. On a pair, one door will be left hand reverse and the other right hand reverse, so order one of each rather than two of the same. Both are offered in 630 satin stainless.

No. The YR23 is trim only, the escutcheon and lever that mount to an exit device. There is no latch, no bolt and no cylinder in the box. The latching is done by the Dorma 9100, 9300 or 9400 Series device on the push side, so you need that device on the door for this trim to do anything.
