Dormakaba YR02R RHR 630 – Frequently Asked Questions

1) What does dummy function mean on the Dorma YR02R exit trim?
Dummy means the lever does nothing. The YR02R is a fixed pull trim, so the lever does not retract a latch and there is no cylinder or key. It exists to give the outside of the door a matching lever to grab and to match the look of other openings where the trim is live. Egress is still handled entirely by the push bar on the inside.
2) Which Dorma exit devices does the YR02R trim mount to?
It fits the Dorma 9100, F9100, 9300, F9300, 9400 and F9400 series exit devices, including the F-prefix fire rated versions of each. It is trim only, so the device itself is ordered separately.
3) Do I need to specify handing when ordering the YR02R dummy trim?
Yes. It comes left hand reverse or right hand reverse. Exit device trim is always reverse bevel because the door swings out, so determine the hand from outside the opening: standing on the pull side, if the hinges are on your left it is left hand reverse.
4) Can I use this trim on a vertical rod exit device, or is it rim only?
Both. The Y escutcheon R lever trim is listed for rim, surface vertical rod and concealed vertical rod devices in the 91/93/9400 family, so the same trim carries across a rim device on a single door and a vertical rod device on a pair.
5) Does the YR02R trim come with a cylinder?
No cylinder, and none can be used. It is a non-keyed dummy trim, so there is no cylinder prep and no keying to specify. If your facility keys the outside of exit doors, you need a keyed function trim instead.
6) Can I add this trim to an existing Dorma exit device already on the door?
Yes, if the device is a 9100, 9300 or 9400 series Dorma unit (or the fire rated F versions). The Y escutcheon R lever dummy trim is built for those chassis. It will not adapt to another manufacturer's device.
7) What finish is the Dorma YR02R lever trim available in?
630 satin stainless steel, in both handings. That is the standard commercial stainless finish, so it matches 630 pulls, hinges and push bars already on most institutional openings.
