The 48900 PLC interlock controller is a cost-effective method for operating door interlock and mantrap systems of up to nine doors. The fully integrated controller is a one board solution that allows the installer complete control of all operating and configuration options without complex software.

1) How many doors can the Dortronics 48901 interlock controller handle in a mantrap?
The 48901 PLC interlock controller runs mantrap and airlock sequences for 2 to 9 doors, in any combination of locked or unlocked doors. It's a single-board PLC with nine door status inputs and nine request-for-access inputs, so you're not stacking boards to get past a two-door vestibule. Configuration is done in the field on the board itself, no software or laptop needed.
2) Does the Dortronics 48901 come with a power supply and enclosure, or do I need to supply my own?
The 48901 ships mounted in a NEMA enclosure with a 4204NX 4 amp Class 2, UL 294 listed power supply already in it. The power supply supplied with the 48901 includes a fire alarm connection that drops power for emergency egress. Separate from that, the board has a panic release input and a dedicated interlock shunt/override input, plus an adjustable emergency override unlock timer that sets how long the doors stay released. There's also a panic alarm output to annunciate that the override was used.

If that footprint won't work in the closet or IT room you've got, the 48900XPA panel is 13.5 x 11.5 inches for mounting into an enclosure you already have, and the bare 48900 PLC module is 12 x 10 x 1.5 inches.
8) Can I run red and green traffic lights off the Dortronics 48900 interlock?
Traffic light control is built in. The 48900 has nine door status outputs providing powered red and green LED outputs, one pair per door, so each side of the vestibule tells the person whether they may proceed.
