Mustee 3636DTM – Frequently Asked Questions

1) Will the Mustee 3636DTM Durabase shower floor fit a 36 by 36 inch shower opening?
The Durabase 3636DTM is a 36 x 36 inch shower floor, so it is sized for a nominal 36 by 36 alcove or corner rough opening. Measure the framed opening wall to wall before ordering, since the base has to sit flat on the subfloor with the wall surfaces landing outside the threshold.
2) What does double threshold mean on the Mustee 3636DTM shower base?
Double threshold means the base has a raised curb on two sides rather than one. That makes it the base to use where only two walls enclose the shower, typically a corner installation with an entry on two adjacent sides. If your opening is a standard alcove with walls on three sides, a single threshold base is the one that matches.
3) What is the Mustee model number and finish for the 36x36 double threshold Durabase shower floor?
Order it as Mustee 3636DTM, which is also the manufacturer part number. It is a white Durabase shower floor, 36 x 36 inches, double threshold.
4) Is the Mustee Durabase 3636DTM a shower pan on its own, or a complete shower unit with walls?
It is the floor only. The Durabase 3636DTM is a shower base, so wall surround panels, the drain trim, valve, and door or curtain rod are all separate items on the order. Property managers replacing a tub or an old pan in a 36 by 36 footprint should plan the wall finish as its own line.
