The 2000 Series is a full size 1200 lbs. holding force electromagnet. It is designed for life safety and high security on rated or nonrated doors and frames. Specify for commercial, industrial, or institutional openings when low cost and highsecurity are required

All 2000 Series locks are designed for ease of installation with adjustable mounting, field selectable voltage, and convenient wiring compartments. Optional integrated door and lock status sensors allow remote monitoring without the need to install separate “door contacts”.
The 2000 Series is offered in single, double, and split armature models for both outswinging and inswinging doors. The coil and housing assembly mounts rigidly to the door frame while the armature mounts to the door in a manner that allows it to pivot slightly to compensate for door irregularities. When the door is closed and the lock is energized the armature is magnetically bonded to the lock face, thus securing the door without utilizing any moving parts.

DynaLock 2011 – Frequently Asked Questions

1) Will the DynaLock 2011 maglock work on an outswinging door?
Outswing is exactly what the 2011 is built for. The coil and housing mount to the underside of the frame header and the armature mounts to the door face, so the magnet is on the pull side of the opening. For an inswinging door you need a different model in the 2000 Series, which is also offered in inswing configurations, usually with a bracket arrangement rather than the plain header mount the 2011 uses.
2) How much holding force does the DynaLock 2011 magnetic lock have, and is that enough for a main entrance?
1200 lbs of holding force from a single coil, which is DynaLock's full size magnet rather than a slim line unit. That is the level normally specified for commercial, industrial and institutional perimeter and high security openings. If you are locking a lighter interior or office door, a 500 lb unit like the Schlage M420 or a 600 lb slim line such as the Dortronics 1107 covers that duty with a smaller housing.
3) What voltage does the DynaLock 2011 need, and how much current will it pull off my access control power supply?
Multi-voltage auto-sensing 12/24 VAC or VDC, so there is no jumper to set in the field. Current draw on the single is 374 mA at 12VDC and 210 mA at 24VDC. Run it at 24V if you are sizing a power supply for several openings or want longer battery backup runtime, since it halves the load per door. A double unit draws 748 mA at 12VDC and 420 mA at 24VDC.
4) Does the DynaLock 2011 unlock if the power goes out or the fire alarm drops the circuit?
It releases immediately. An electromagnetic lock holds only while energized, and the 2011 is built with no residual magnetism, so the door frees without the sticking delay some magnets show when de-energized. There are no moving parts in the hold: the armature bonds to the lock face when the door is closed and the coil is powered. Adjustable relock time delay is standard on every model, so the magnet does not re-energize the instant power returns while the door is still swinging.
5) What is the difference between DSM, HSM and VOP on a DynaLock 2000 Series maglock, and which do I need?
Three monitoring levels, and you pick them as options on the order. DSM is a door status switch alone, signalling closed or ajar, which replaces a separate door contact. HSM is the high security monitor package, which includes that door status switch. VOP, the value option package, adds the most: door status switch, the Dynastat force sensor that tells you the magnetic bond is actually efficient, and an anti-tamper switch that signals if someone pulls the wiring access cover. If your head end only needs to know the door is shut, DSM is enough. If you are proving the lock is genuinely holding and want tamper reporting back at the panel, take VOP. All eight combinations of the three are orderable.
6) I am replacing a Locknetics 390 maglock. Is the DynaLock 2011 a drop-in?
For a Locknetics 390+ the direct retrofit we carry is the Schlage Electronics M390RFK, which is sold as a direct retrofit for that unit with 1500 lbs holding force, door status monitor, magnetic bond sensor and relock time delay. The DynaLock 2011 is not sold as a retrofit for it. The 2011 does have adjustable mounting for field fitting, so it will go on a header, but expect to lay out the mounting fresh rather than reuse the old holes.
7) What magnetic lock should be used on a pair of doors instead of a single-door mag lock?
The DynaLock 2011 is a single outswing model with one coil. For an opening with two leaves, the Alarm Controls 1200D Series is a double magnetic lock, and the Dorma EML320 is a double door electromagnetic lock at 1500 lb. that is fire rated and electrically locked (fail safe). Both cover the pair in one assembly rather than requiring two separate single units.
8) Which magnetic lock is fire rated and fail safe for a stairwell or corridor door?
The DynaLock 2011 is designed for life safety and high security on rated or nonrated doors and frames. The Dorma EML310 single door models, offered as EML310 with door position sensor and as EML310 with bond alert plus door position sensor, are 1500 lb. locks listed as fire rated and electrically locked (fail safe), meaning they release on loss of power.
9) Can I get a status light on the DynaLock 2011 so staff can see whether the door is locked?
A bi-color LED for local signalling of lock status is available, but it is not standalone: it requires either the HSM or the VOP option on the same unit. If you are quoting the LED, add HSM or VOP to the line or the light has nothing to read from.
10) Do I need to run a separate door contact if I install a DynaLock 2011?
Not if you order it with a monitoring option. The integrated door and lock status sensors report closed or ajar back to your system without a separate door contact installed in the frame, which saves a second wire run and a second hole in the header. Without a monitor option the 2011 is a plain hold-only magnet and your system gets no position feedback.
11) I need delayed egress on a stairwell door. Will the DynaLock 2011 do that?
The 2011 is a straight hold and release magnet with an adjustable relock time delay, not a delayed egress device. Delayed egress is a different function with its own irreversible timer and alarm. For that opening, the Alarm Controls 1200DE Series is a delayed egress magnetic lock for a single door.
12) Can the DynaLock 2011 go on a fire rated door?
The 2000 Series is designed for use on rated or nonrated doors and frames. Confirm the opening's own listing and your local egress requirements govern how the magnet is released, since a magnet must drop out on alarm regardless of the door it is mounted to.
13) Will a DynaLock 2011 hold on a door that does not sit perfectly flat in the frame?
Some slop is accounted for. The armature mounts to the door in a way that lets it pivot slightly to compensate for door irregularities, so a leaf that is marginally out of plane still bonds flat to the magnet face. Mounting is adjustable at install for the same reason. Warped doors and worn hinges are still worth correcting first, because the full 1200 lbs only develops with the armature seated flush against the coil face, which is what the Dynastat force sensor in the VOP package is there to report on.
14) If I need a mag lock with a bond sensor and door position monitoring built in, what are the options?
The DynaLock 2011 offers the VOP value option package, which adds a door status switch for closed or ajar, a Dynastat force sensor indicating efficient magnetic bond, and an anti-tamper switch signaling removal of the wiring access cover. Built-in spike suppression is included, which protects the solid state components elsewhere in the access control system from the inductive kick when the coil de-energizes, so no separate suppression diode is needed at the lock. 17) Is the DynaLock 2011 battery powered, and can it run on backup power?
