The 2000 Series is a full size 1200 lbs. holding force electromagnet. It is designed for life safety and high security on rated or nonrated doors and frames. Specify for commercial, industrial, or institutional openings when low cost and highsecurity are required

All 2000 Series locks are designed for ease of installation with adjustable mounting, field selectable voltage, and convenient wiring compartments. Optional integrated door and lock status sensors allow remote monitoring without the need to install separate “door contacts”.
The 2000 Series is offered in single, double, and split armature models for both outswinging and inswinging doors. The coil and housing assembly mounts rigidly to the door frame while the armature mounts to the door in a manner that allows it to pivot slightly to compensate for door irregularities. When the door is closed and the lock is energized the armature is magnetically bonded to the lock face, thus securing the door without utilizing any moving parts.

1) Will the DynaLock 2022 work on a pair of outswinging doors?
That is exactly what the 2022 is built for. It is a double magnet, dual armature unit that mounts to the underside of the frame header on a pair of outswinging doors, with 1200 lbs of holding force per leaf so each door is held independently. If your pair swings IN, order the 2022-TJ22 instead, which uses the same double coil but mounts to the face of the frame header.
2) What voltage and current does a DynaLock 2022 double magnetic lock need?
Multi-voltage auto-sensing, 12 or 24 VAC/VDC, so you do not pick a voltage when ordering. Size the supply for 748 mA at 12VDC or 420 mA at 24VDC for the double unit. Running it at 24V roughly halves the draw, which matters when you are sharing a power supply across several openings or stretching battery backup time.
3) Do I still need door contacts if I use a DynaLock 2022?
Not if you order the Door Status Switch option. The 2022 can be built with integrated door and lock status sensing so the access control panel gets position and bond monitoring from the magnet itself, no separate door contact to mortise into the frame. The two monitoring options order separately: Door Status Switch tells you the door is closed, High Security Monitor tells you the magnet is actually bonded. You can take either, both, or neither.
4) Will a magnetic lock hold the door shut after the power drops?
No, and that is the point of the design. The 2022 is a fail safe magnet: de-energize it and the door releases immediately, with no residual magnetism holding it. That is what makes it acceptable on egress openings, and it is also why the opening needs a code-compliant release path and a power supply with battery backup if you want the door secured through an outage.
5) I am replacing a Locknetics 390 mag lock. Is the DynaLock 2022 a drop-in?
No, the 2022 is a new-hole install on the header, not a retrofit of another brand's prep. If you want a direct retrofit for a Locknetics 390+, the Schlage Electronics M390RFK is built for it at 1500 lbs holding force with door status monitor, magnetic bond sensor, and relock time delay. Note that is a single door magnet, so a pair takes two of them where the 2022 covers both leaves in one 22 inch housing.
6) I need delayed egress on the door - can I get that from the DynaLock 2022?
The DynaLock 2022 is a standard holding electromagnetic lock; its timing feature is an adjustable relock time delay, which is not delayed egress. For an opening that requires delayed egress, the Alarm Controls 1200DE Series is a delayed egress magnetic lock for a single door.
7) The DynaLock 2022 is going on a fire rated pair - which alternatives carry a fire rating?
Among the cross-brand magnets, the Dorma EML310 and EML320 are listed with a fire rating and as electrically locked (fail safe), the EML320 being the double door version at 1500 lb. If the fire rating has to appear on the submittal for the opening, those are the ones that state it.
8) Can I get LED status indicators on a DynaLock 2022 mag lock?
Yes, the LED2 bi-color LED option adds two indicators, but it does not stand alone. LED2 requires either the High Security Monitor or the Value Option Package on the same unit, so specify one of those first or the LEDs have nothing to drive them.
9) Does the DynaLock 2022 have a built-in relock delay, or do I need a separate timer?
Adjustable relock time delay is standard on every 2000 Series lock, formerly the TD option. You do not order it and you do not add an external timer to hold the magnet off long enough for someone to clear the opening.
10) Is there a single-door version of the DynaLock 2000 Series mag lock?
Yes. The 2000 Series runs in single, double, and split armature models for both outswing and inswing doors. The single is an 11 inch magnet at 1200 lbs drawing 374 mA at 12VDC or 210 mA at 24VDC; the 2022 double is the 22 inch unit with two coils for a pair of doors. Order the double only if you are actually holding two leaves, otherwise you are paying for header space you do not need.
11) My opening needs delayed egress. Will the DynaLock 2022 do that?
No. The 2022 releases the instant it is de-energized, which is the opposite of delayed egress. For a 15 or 30 second delay on an egress door you need a purpose-built unit such as the Alarm Controls 1200DE Series delayed egress magnetic lock, which is a single door product, so a pair would take two.
12) Can I surface mount a mag lock on a frame with almost no header depth?
The 2022 needs the full 1-1/2 inch depth of the magnet body plus its armature on the door, so a shallow or glass-front header can be tight. If surface mounting will not work, a shear lock like the ROFU 8031-002 sets into the header and door at 2200 lb holding force on 12/24VDC with monitoring, and the Schlage 320M is a compact mortise magnet at 1500 lbs for sliding doors. Both hide the hardware where a surface magnet cannot go.
13) Will a magnetic lock hold if my doors are slightly warped or out of alignment?
Within reason, yes. The armature on the door is mounted so it can pivot slightly to take up door irregularities and still seat flat against the magnet face, and the coil housing itself installs with adjustable mounting on the frame. On a pair, each leaf gets its own armature and its own coil, so one door being off does not cost you the hold on the other.
