DynaLock 7561 – Frequently Asked Questions
1) Will the DynaLock 7561 proximity tag work with my 125kHz prox readers?
The 7561 and 7571 tags are read-only 125kHz proximity credentials, so they work with readers operating on the 125kHz prox frequency. They will not be read by a reader running at 13.56MHz smart card frequency only.
2) Will a DynaLock 7561 proximity tag work as a replacement for a push button or request-to-exit device?
No. The 7561 is a read-only 125kHz proximity credential presented to a reader, not a releasing device. If the opening needs a switch that signals release, that is a different class of part - for example the Command Access REX-KIT-ML is a request-to-exit kit for ML1-series mortise locks, and the Command Access CRSREXKIT-ED is a field installable request-to-exit kit for Cal Royal 22/98 and Sargent 80 series exit devices with an SPDT switch.
3) I need to power my access control door, not credential it - what part should I be looking at instead of the 7561 tag?
The 7561 is a credential only and supplies no power. For transforming line voltage down for door hardware, the Adams Rite 4605 is a 115 VAC to 12/24 VAC transformer with a 40 volt-amp output, and for distributing switched outputs the Locknetics RDB4 is a four-output relay distribution board. Those handle power and switching; the 7561 handles identification at the reader.
4) Can these DynaLock prox tags be reprogrammed or rewritten for a new tenant?
No. Both the 7561 ring tag and the 7571 wafer tag are read-only, so the code is fixed at the factory. To change access when a tenant leaves, you delete that tag's number in the access control panel and issue a new tag rather than reprogramming the old one.
5) Are DynaLock 7561 tags suitable for commercial and multi-family buildings?
Yes, they are rated for commercial use and are part of DynaLock's electronic access control line. For a property manager issuing credentials across a building, the ring style 7561 and wafer style 7571 are the same credential in two carry formats, so you can mix them in one system without changing readers.
6) Do I get a reader with the DynaLock 7561 tag, or is it credential only?
These are credentials only. The 7561 ring and 7571 wafer are the tags a user carries; the reader, controller, power supply and lock are all ordered separately. Budget the tag count per user, not per door.
7) What is the difference between the DynaLock 7561 and 7571 proximity tags?
Both are read-only 125kHz proximity credentials in gray. The 7561 uses a ring design and the 7571 uses a wafer design, so the choice comes down to how the credential is carried or mounted rather than how it reads. Both are offered as models under the same 7561 series.
8) My door needs an audible alert on exit - is the 7561 part of that?
No, the 7561 is a silent read-only proximity credential with no sounder. For audible alerting, the RCI 914 series is a delayed egress sounder with field-selectable volume up to 102dB, and the Adams Rite 29-0218 is a piezo electric horn with multi-voltage compatibility. Those are the annunciating parts; the tag simply presents the user to the reader.
9) What other DynaLock or access control accessories might I need alongside these prox tags?
Tags alone do not make a system. Depending on the opening you may also need a low voltage transformer such as the Adams Rite 4605, which converts 115 VAC to 12 or 24 VAC with a 40 volt-amp output, a relay distribution board like the Locknetics RDB4 with four relay outputs, or a tamper cover such as the Dortronics 6510/COV for pull stations and 5000 Series push buttons.
10) Is a proximity tag the right pick for a glass entry door, or do I need something else?
The 7561 proximity tag is a commercial credential that works with a reader regardless of door material, so it is not door-specific. What is door-specific is the mounting hardware: Securitron catalogs a Glass Door Accessories group for glass front openings, and a SAM surface mount kit accessory line for surface-applied installations. Pair the tag with whichever mounting family suits the opening.
