B-LINE 4D22SH-120GRN – Frequently Asked Questions
1) Will standard strut nuts and fittings fit the B-Line 4D22 channel?
The 4D22 is a 2.12 inch wide profile, wider than the common 1-5/8 inch strut, so 1-5/8 inch channel nuts and clamps are not the right hardware for it. Order the fittings and nuts matched to the 4Dimension 4D22 channel width.
2) What does the SH in B-Line 4D22SH mean?
SH is the hole pattern designation on this 4Dimension channel. The 4D22 profile is punched rather than solid, so you can bolt hangers, clamps and fittings anywhere along the 120 inch run without field drilling. If your drawing calls for a solid, unpunched back, the SH pattern is not the part to order.
3) Is the green finish on B-Line 4D22SH-120GRN paint or a coating, and where can I use it?
The finish is Eaton's Dura Green, a coating over the 18 gauge steel channel. It is a painted-type protective finish suited to interior and sheltered runs. For continuously wet, corrosive or exterior-exposed work, specify a hot dip galvanized or stainless channel instead.
4) Does the 4D22SH-120GRN strut channel come with nuts, bolts or brackets?
No. This is the bare 120 inch channel only. Channel nuts, spring nuts, hardware, end caps, post bases and any fittings are separate line items, so add them to the order before the crew is on site.
