1) Can I drill through the strut or bracket and set this anchor without removing the fixture?
Yes. The AWA-62-600 is made to be installed through the fixture, so you can drill the hole with the strut channel, bracket or pipe hanger already positioned, drive the anchor down through the mounting hole and into the concrete, then tighten the nut. That saves marking, moving the part, and re-aligning it.

The AWA-62-600 is zinc plated carbon steel. That plating handles dry interior and lightly protected conditions well. For continuously wet, washdown, coastal or chemically aggressive locations, zinc plated carbon steel will corrode over time and a stainless anchor is the better call.
