B-Line Eaton series Grip Strut three diamond plank, 120" Grating length, 7" Grating width, Steel, 2" Channel size, Mill-galvanized, Grip Strut, 14 gau

Each plank runs 120 inches long by 7 inches wide, with a 2 inch channel depth. For a wider catwalk or platform, planks are laid side by side, so figure your total walking width in 7 inch increments and your run in 10 foot lengths.

The Grip Strut three diamond plank is listed as OSHA compliant, and the diamond-punched surface is intended to give sure footing where slip resistance is required. That is what makes it the usual choice for elevated catwalks, mezzanine walkways, stair treads and equipment access platforms.

The plank is 14 gauge steel with a mill-galvanized finish, which is a zinc coating applied to the coil before forming. That suits covered outdoor and general industrial use, but the cut edges and punched diamonds are raw steel after fabrication, so in constant wet, coastal or chemical wash-down service you want a hot-dip galvanized or stainless plank instead.

No. The 32014N 10 GL is the plank only, 120 inches of 14 gauge formed steel. Hold-down clips, bolts or weld attachment to your stringers or support steel are ordered separately, so allow for them when you price the job.

The formed channel is 2 inches deep, and overall product height is given as 2 inches. Budget that 2 inches of build-up above the top of your support beams when you are setting finished walking elevation or clearing a doorway onto the platform.

Yes. At 3.2 lb a 10 foot plank is a one-man carry up a ladder or onto a mezzanine, which is the main reason crews use formed steel plank over bar grating on retrofit work in occupied buildings.
