It carries a NEMA 4 rating, which covers indoor or outdoor use against windblown dust, rain, splashing water and hose-directed water. The seal comes from a seamless poured in-place gasket around the door opening, and the box is UL 50 listed. If your site also sees corrosive washdown chemicals or coastal salt spray, a stainless 4X enclosure is the better call, since this one is painted carbon steel.

62 inches high by 60 inches wide by 12 inches deep. That 12 inch depth is the number to check first, because a 60 inch wide backpan gives you plenty of side-to-side room but only 12 inches front to back for gear, wire bending space and door-mounted devices.

It is a ground mount design with ground mount legs, so it stands on its own feet rather than hanging on a wall. Plan on a pad or a prepared base you can anchor the legs to. At 418.8 pounds empty it is not a one-man set, so rig it or bring a lift before the gear goes in.

Large double door style with hinged covers and a 3-point latching handle, which pulls the door tight top, middle and bottom so the gasket seals evenly across a 62 inch opening. The handle carries a key lock with padlock provision, so you can either key it or hang your own padlock for site lockout.

12 gauge carbon steel body, painted ANSI 61 grey, which is the standard switchgear grey most utility and industrial specs call out, so it will match existing gear lineups. Made in the US.

Twelve inches is workable for flat-mounted gear such as terminal blocks, relays, drives with shallow profiles and distribution blocks on a backpan, but it gets tight once you add door-mounted operators and need wire bending space behind them. If you are stacking deep breakers or larger VFDs, step up to a deeper ground mount box rather than fighting this one. The 60 inch width is what gives this model its capacity.
