The 746012-4XSS6FD3PT measures 74 inches high, 60 inches wide and 12 inches deep. That 12 inch depth is the constraint most people miss: it's a shallow back-panel enclosure, so deep-bodied breakers, large VFDs or anything with a long rear projection won't clear once the back panel is in. Plan your gear layout against 12 inches of usable depth before you commit.

That's exactly what this one is built for. The 4XSS6FD3PT is 316 stainless steel with a NEMA 4X rating and a seamless poured in-place gasket, which is the combination you want for salt air, chemical exposure and hose-down areas. 304 stainless and painted steel 3R boxes are cheaper but 316 is the alloy specified where chlorides are in play, which is why wastewater, marine and food plants call it out.

A pad. The 746012-4XSS6FD3PT ships with ground mount legs and is configured for ground mounting, not wall mounting. You'll need a level concrete base with anchors for the legs. At 510.5 pounds empty, before any gear goes in, budget for rigging on site as well.

It's a large double door design with a stainless handle and 3-point latching, so the door pulls tight top, center and bottom against the gasket, which is what holds the 4X seal across a 74 inch tall opening. The handle carries a key lock with a padlock provision, so you can padlock it for lockout or site security without adding hardware.

It carries UL 50, the standard covering enclosures for electrical equipment, and it's made in the United States. That combination is what most government, utility and institutional specs are looking for on the submittal.

You can, but the NEMA 4X rating only holds if every penetration uses a 4X-rated watertight hub or fitting with the correct gasket or sealing washer. Cut entries in the bottom or sides rather than the top wherever possible, and deburr the 12 gauge stainless clean so the hub gasket seats flat. Any open or loosely sealed knockout voids the rating on the whole box.

12 gauge throughout. On a 60 inch wide double door box that matters, because thinner material oil-cans and the doors can rack out of alignment with the gasket. 12 gauge 316 stainless is also why it weighs 510.5 pounds bare.

No paint. It's bare 316 stainless in a #4 brushed finish, the standard directional satin grain used on industrial and food-grade equipment. Leave it as is; coating stainless in a 4X washdown area just gives you something to peel later.
