Direction of the turn relative to the cable. A vertical inside bend, which is what the 4A-18-45VI24 is, turns the tray so the cables run on the inside of the curve, the arrangement you use where the tray rises up a wall or climbs over an obstruction and the load bears against the concave face. A vertical outside bend turns the other way, with the cables on the outside radius, used where the run drops down. Ordering the wrong one leaves you with a fitting that will bolt on but sends the run in the wrong plane.

Aluminum. That is the reason a lot of specs call for this line in damp process areas, water treatment, food plants and outdoor runs, where plated or painted steel tray needs coating maintenance. Aluminum also keeps the fitting light, 6 pounds for this one, which matters when a single electrician is setting it on trapeze hangers overhead. It is not the choice where the spec calls for hot dip galvanized steel for mechanical abuse or higher load ratings.

Plan on ordering connection hardware separately. The 4A-18-45VI24 is supplied as the vertical inside bend fitting itself, 18 inch width, 4 inch depth, 24 inch radius. Splice plates, hardware kits and any hangers or supports at the bend are separate line items in the B-Line imperial tray system, so add them to the same order or the crew will be stopped at the turn.

It carries CE marking. That is the certification on record for this aluminum vertical inside bend, and it is the one to quote if your submittal package or European-facing spec asks for it.
