B-LINE AW6060AP – Frequently Asked Questions
1) Will the B-Line AW6060AP mounting panel fit a 60 x 60 inch enclosure?
Yes. The AW6060AP aluminum back panel is sized for 60 inch by 60 inch enclosures, and its own panel dimensions are 55.875 inches wide by 55.87 inches high, which is why it drops inside the 60 inch box rather than measuring a full 60 inches itself. It is a flat panel for fiberglass enclosures.
2) Is the AW6060AP panel steel or aluminum, and does it need painting?
It's aluminum with a brushed finish, so there is no paint coat to scratch through and no galvanized steel to worry about in a damp environment. Brushed aluminum is left as-is; if your spec calls for a white painted steel subpanel, this is not that part.
3) Can I use the AW6060AP in a NEMA rated enclosure without affecting the rating?
Yes, it is a NEMA series back panel intended to mount inside the enclosure, behind the door seal. It mounts to the enclosure's internal studs and does not penetrate the walls, so the enclosure's rating is untouched as long as you do not drill through the box itself.
4) What exact part number do I order for a 60 x 60 B-Line aluminum subpanel?
Order Eaton B-Line AW6060AP. That is the single model covered, aluminum, brushed, for 60 inch by 60 inch enclosures. Panels ship without devices or mounting hardware kits, so add whatever studs, DIN rail or wireway your layout needs.
5) What is the third dimension listed on the AW6060AP, the 43.875 inches?
The AW6060AP is catalogued with three figures: 55.875 in width, 55.87 in height, and 43.875 in length/depth. The two 55-plus inch figures are the usable panel face for a 60 x 60 enclosure. Lay out your DIN rail, wireway and device footprints against that face.
6) Is this panel flat or does it have a formed offset?
Flat. The AW6060AP is a flat aluminum panel for fiberglass enclosures, so the full face is available for device mounting with no formed return or offset breaking up the layout.
