B-LINE AW3624GP – Frequently Asked Questions

1) What size enclosure does the B-Line AW3624GP panel fit?
The AW3624GP is sized for 36 inch by 24 inch B-Line enclosures. It is a flanged NEMA panel, so it mounts inside the box on the enclosure's panel studs rather than bolting to the door. If your box is a different height or width, this panel will not line up.
2) Can I use this galvanized steel back panel in a wet or washdown area?
No. The AW3624GP is a NEMA 1 rated panel, which is indoor, general purpose protection only. For washdown, outdoor, or oily environments you need hardware matched to a NEMA 4, 4X, or 12 enclosure, and a galvanized panel in a damp box will corrode. Keep this one in dry, indoor electrical rooms and control areas.
3) Is the B-Line AW3624GP panel bare galvanized or painted?
Both, depending on which surface you look at. The base material is galvanized steel with a smooth brushed appearance, and the finish color on record is white powder coated. White is the standard interior panel finish because it makes wiring and component labels easier to read in a dim electrical room.
4) Does this Eaton B-Line panel carry a Canadian certification for a CSA jurisdiction job?
Yes. The AW3624GP is listed to CSA C22.2, so it can be specified on work in Canadian jurisdictions. Its protection rating is NEMA 1, general purpose indoor.
5) Do I get mounting hardware or an enclosure with the AW3624GP?
The AW3624GP is the sub-panel by itself, not an enclosure. It is a subassembly panel for mounting breakers, relays, terminal blocks, and DIN rail inside a 36 by 24 box. Order the enclosure separately, and confirm what panel mounting hardware your specific box ships with before you go to install it.
6) Can I drill and tap this back panel for my own components?
Yes, that is what it is for. The AW3624GP is galvanized steel, so it takes drilling and tapping for standoffs, DIN rail, and component feet the same as any steel sub-panel. Touch up cut edges if the box will see any humidity, since bare steel exposed by drilling loses the galvanized coating at that spot.
