B-LINE AW3636P – Frequently Asked Questions

1) Will the B-Line AW3636P back panel fit my 36 x 36 enclosure?
The AW3636P is sized for 36 inch by 36 inch B-Line enclosures. The panel itself measures 31 inches high and 27 inches wide, which is the usable mounting area once it sits inside the box on the enclosure's panel studs. If your enclosure is a different nominal size, this panel will not line up with the mounting studs.
2) Can I use this panel in a washdown or outdoor enclosure?
The AW3636P is rated NEMA 1, which is indoor, general purpose only. It is not intended for the NEMA 4, 4X or 12 enclosures used in washdown, outdoor or dust-heavy areas. For those environments you need the panel matched to that enclosure family, not this one.
3) Is the AW3636P a flat panel or a flanged one, and does that change how it mounts?
It's a flanged panel, not a flat sheet. The formed flanges give it a 26.875 inch depth dimension and add rigidity, so heavier gear like breakers, contactors and terminal blocks can be bolted up without the panel oil-canning. Flat panels sit tight to the enclosure back; a flanged panel stands the equipment off the back wall, which is worth knowing if you're running conduit or wireway behind it.
4) Is the B-Line AW3636P UL Listed for use in an electrical enclosure?
Yes, it carries a UL Listing. That matters on inspected commercial and industrial installs where the enclosure assembly, including the back panel, has to be listed components rather than shop-fabricated plate.
5) Does the AW3636P come with the mounting hardware to install it in the enclosure?
Order it as what it is: a 12 gauge steel back panel for a 36 x 36 NEMA 1 enclosure. Check the enclosure you're mounting into for its panel mounting studs and nuts, since those are supplied with the box rather than as part of the panel. The panel is a single model, AW3636P, with no finish or size options to specify.
