B-LINE B281AGRN – Frequently Asked Questions

1) Which strut channel does the B-Line B281AGRN post base fit?
The B281AGRN square post base fits Eaton B-Line channel types B22A, B and C. If the strut on your job is a different B-Line profile, this base is not the right fitting for it.
2) What is a centered offset square post base used for on strut?
It is the plate that anchors the bottom of a vertical strut post to a floor or slab. The B281AGRN gives a 6 x 6 inch square footprint with the channel seat offset from center, so the post sits off the middle of the plate. That offset lets you set the strut tight to a wall or column line while the anchor holes stay clear of the edge.
3) How much floor space does the B281AGRN strut post base take up, and how tall does it sit?
Footprint is 6 by 6 inches and the base stands 1.62 inches high. Allow that 1.62 inches when you figure finished post height, because it adds to the strut length below the top of your run. Weight is 3.3 lb per piece.
4) Does the B281AGRN post base come with anchors or hardware to bolt the strut down?
No. The B281AGRN is the steel base plate only. Concrete or floor anchors, and the channel nuts and bolts that fasten the strut to the base, are ordered separately and sized to your slab and channel.
5) Is the DURA GREEN finish on this B-Line post base suitable for damp or outdoor locations?
DURA GREEN is Eaton B-Line's coated finish over the steel body, used where plain plated steel would rust. It is the finish to match if the rest of your strut run is already DURA GREEN, since mixing coatings on the same run leaves you with a visible and electrochemical mismatch at the connection.
