Yes. The 16164 RTSC carries a NEMA 3R rating, which covers outdoor use against falling rain and sleet, and it ships with a rain hood over the cover. It is UL 50 listed. Mount it upright on a wall as intended, since a 3R enclosure sheds water by design rather than sealing against hose-directed spray.

It measures 16 inches high by 16 inches wide with a 4 inch depth, so plan on a 16 by 16 inch footprint plus clearance for the rain hood and the screw cover to come off. Box weight is 13 lb, light enough for one person to hang on a surface-mount pattern.

Seven knockouts are provided in the bottom of the box, which is where conduit should enter a 3R enclosure so water does not track in from above. Any other entry you need on the sides or back has to be punched in the field.

No drilling of the back panel area is needed. The enclosure is surface mounted using embossed thru holes, so the mounting hardware passes through raised bosses that keep the fastener heads off the flat surface and help maintain the 3R integrity. Fasteners and wall anchors are selected to suit your substrate.

It is a screw cover, not a hinged door. The flanged cover lifts off completely once the plated screws are backed out, which gives full access for pulling wire but means you want a hand free when you open it up a ladder. Plated screws resist corrosion in the outdoor application the box is rated for.

Body is 16 gauge carbon steel with a painted finish in ANSI 61 grey, and the cover screws are plated. Painted carbon steel is the standard choice for outdoor 3R work where the box is not exposed to chemicals or salt spray. For washdown, coastal, or corrosive locations, specify a stainless or non-metallic enclosure instead.

At 16 x 16 x 4 inches, the 16164 RTSC is a shallow pull and splice box, fine for conductor junctions, terminal blocks, and small pass-through work. If you are mounting a contactor, a disconnect, or anything with depth behind it, step up to a deeper enclosure, since 4 inches leaves little room once conduit fittings and wire bending space are taken up.

The finish is ANSI 61 grey, the same standard grey used across most industrial electrical enclosures and switchgear, so it lines up with existing B-Line boxes and typical panel shop work on the same wall.
