1) Can the B-Line 18186 RTSC junction box be mounted outdoors?
Yes. The 18186 RTSC carries a NEMA 3R rating, which covers outdoor use against falling rain, sleet and external ice formation. It adds a rain hood over the cover and uses plated screws to hold up outside. It is not a washdown or dust-tight enclosure, so if you need hosedown or oiltight protection you want a Type 4 or 4X box instead.

There are 9 knockouts in the bottom of the box. The other walls and the cover are blank, so any side or back entry has to be punched in the field. 3) How does the 18186 RTSC mount, and will I need extra brackets?
It is a surface mount enclosure with embossed thru holes in the back pan for fasteners. The embossed feature keeps the mounting holes sealed against the back wall so water does not track in through them. Fasteners and anchors are not part of the box; pick them for your wall type and for a unit that weighs 18.4 lb empty before conductors.
