B-LINE 2260 HSNK – Frequently Asked Questions

1) Is the 2260 HSNK wireway rated for outdoor or wet locations?
No. It is a NEMA 1 enclosure, which is indoor, general purpose only, protecting against incidental dust and contact with live parts but not rain, washdown or dripping water. For an outdoor run you need a NEMA 3R raintight trough instead.
2) Does the B-Line 2260 wireway come with knockouts, or do I have to punch my own openings?
No knockouts. The 2260 HSNK ships blank, so every conduit or connector opening gets drilled or punched in the field wherever your run calls for it. Mounting is by thru holes in the back of the body, so you fasten it straight to studs, strut or a wall surface with your own hardware.
3) Hinged cover or screw cover wireway - which should I use?
The 2260 HSNK has a hinged cover, which is what you want where the trough will be opened repeatedly for pulls, taps or troubleshooting, or where the run is tight against a ceiling and a lift-off cover has nowhere to go. A screw cover version is the cheaper choice for a buried run nobody touches again. On this one the cover still secures to the body with plated screws once closed.
4) Is this B-Line wireway CSA certified for work in Canada?
The 2260 HSNK carries CSA C22.2 certification, so it can be specified on Canadian jobs as well as US work.
5) What do I still need to order to finish a wireway run with the 2260 HSNK?
The 2260 HSNK is the straight 60 inch body and hinged cover only. Any elbows, tees, end plates, couplings, hangers and the mounting fasteners for the thru holes are separate items, and since the trough ships with no knockouts you will also want your own hole punch or step bit for conduit entries.
6) What gauge steel is the B-Line 2260 HSNK trough, and what finish does it come in?
16 gauge steel, painted ANSI 61 gray. That is the standard industrial gray, so a run matches typical panelboards, disconnects and existing B-Line trough in a plant or mechanical room without repainting.
