B-LINE 3336 G NK – Frequently Asked Questions
1) Is the B-Line 3336 G NK wireway a 3x3 trough, and how long is the section?
It's a 3 x 3 inch cross section in a 36 inch long straight section. That 3 x 3 opening is the usable wiring space, so size your conduit fill and gutter space off 3 inches square, not the outside of the box.
2) Does this Eaton B-Line wireway come with knockouts already punched?
No. The 3336 G NK is the NK (no knockouts) version, so every conduit entry has to be field punched or drilled where you want it. If you'd rather have factory knockouts along the trough, order a knockout version of the same 3 x 3 series instead.
3) Is this wireway rated for outdoor or wet locations?
No. It's a NEMA 1 screw cover wireway, which is indoor, dry location general purpose enclosure only. Dust, dripping water, washdown or exterior runs need a NEMA 3R or 4 raintight trough instead.
4) Do I need fittings and connectors to join two 36 inch wireway sections together?
Yes. A 3336 G NK is a straight 36 inch length only. Joining sections, turning corners, or ending a run takes separate 3 x 3 accessories: connectors, elbows, tees and end plates in the same size. Order those alongside the straight lengths so the run is complete.
5) How does the cover come off on the B-Line 3336 wireway?
It's a screw cover, held on with plated screws. You back the screws out to open the run, which is fine for an installation you pull once and rarely revisit. If electricians need to open the trough repeatedly for troubleshooting or adds, a hinged cover wireway saves a lot of time.
6) How is this wireway mounted to a wall or strut?
Mounting is through holes in the back of the trough, so it fastens flat to a wall, backboard or strut with your own hardware. Fasteners are not part of the section, so pick anchors to suit the substrate. At 7.664 lb per 36 inch section plus conductor weight, space supports accordingly.
7) What gauge steel and finish is the 3336 G NK, and will it match our existing gray wireway runs?
16 gauge steel finished in ANSI 61 gray, the standard gray used on most industrial panels and gutter, so it blends with existing ANSI 61 trough and enclosure runs.
