1) Is the 8824 HS wireway rated for outdoor or wet locations?
No. The 8824 HS is a NEMA 1 enclosure, which is indoor general purpose only. It guards against incidental contact with the enclosed wiring and falling dirt, but it does nothing for rain, hosedown or washdown. For an outdoor run or a damp process area you need a NEMA 3R or NEMA 4 raintight wireway instead.
2) Does the 8824 HS wireway come with knockouts, or do I have to punch my own conduit openings?
It comes with 7 knockouts on the top and 7 on the bottom, so conduit can enter and leave along the run without drilling the 14 gauge steel. The ends and sides still need to be punched or cut if your raceway lands there.

The cover is hinged, so it swings open along the length of the trough rather than lifting off, which matters when the wireway is mounted high or over equipment and you're working alone. It's still secured to the body with plated screws, so you back those out before swinging it open.
4) How do I mount the 8824 HS wireway to a wall or strut?
Mounting is through holes in the back of the body, so it bolts flat to a wall, backboard or strut channel with your own hardware. No mounting feet or brackets are part of the trough itself, and fasteners aren't included, so pick anchors for the wall type and the load of the filled trough.
5) What gauge steel and finish is this wireway, and will it match the other gutter already on the job?
Body and cover are 14 gauge steel finished in ANSI 61 gray, the standard gray used across most industrial panelboards and control gear, so it blends with existing equipment rather than standing out. The 14 gauge wall is the heavier end of what's used on lay-in and hinged-cover trough.
