B-LINE 66 HSLOUT – Frequently Asked Questions
1) Will the B-Line 66 HSLOUT elbow fit 6x6 wireway?
Yes. The 66 HSLOUT is sized for 6 inch by 6 inch lay-in wireway, with a 6 in height and 6 in length/depth listed on the fitting itself. Overall width across the fitting is 10.294 in, so allow that much room at the corner when you lay out the run.
2) What does "outside opening" mean on a 90 degree wireway elbow?
It describes which face of the corner the cover comes off. On the 66 HSLOUT the opening is on the outside radius of the 90 degree turn, so you lay conductors in from the outer face of the bend. If your run needs access from the inside of the corner, you want the inside-opening version instead, not this one.
3) Is this B-Line elbow rated for outdoor or wet locations?
No. The 66 HSLOUT is a NEMA 1 enclosure rating, which is indoor, dry location only, general purpose protection against incidental contact and falling dirt. For outdoor or washdown runs you need a NEMA 3R or 4 wireway system, not this fitting.
4) Will this elbow match the gray finish on my existing Eaton B-Line wireway?
It is painted steel in ANSI 61 gray, the standard finish across the B-Line lay-in wireway line, so it matches straight runs, tees and covers in the same series on the same job.
5) Do I have to pull wire through this elbow?
No. It is a lay-in fitting, so the cover comes off and conductors drop into the corner rather than being pulled through. That is the main reason to use a lay-in wireway elbow over conduit and a condulet on a multi-conductor feeder run.
6) How heavy is the 6x6 B-Line 90 degree wireway elbow for overhead support?
5.81 lb for the fitting itself. Add the weight of the conductors you lay in and the adjoining straight sections when you space your hangers or trapeze supports at the corner.
