1) Will the B-Line 88-12LE9C elbow fit 8 x 8 wireway?
Yes. The 88-12LE9C is sized for 8 inch by 8 inch lay-in wireway, with 8 inch height and 8 inch width on the openings. Overall length/depth of the fitting is 11.44 inches, so allow that much run on each leg of the corner when you lay out the trough.
2) What does "outside opening" mean on a 90 degree wireway elbow, and how do I know if that's the one I need?
On a 90 degree elbow the opening is on one side of the turn only. An outside-opening elbow has the removable cover and the wire opening on the long (outer) side of the bend, so you lay conductors in from the outside of the corner. If your run turns the other way and you need to drop wire in from the inside of the bend, you want the inside-opening version instead. Get it backwards and the cover faces a wall you can't reach.
