The Eaton B-Line 4418-12WT is a 4 x 4 x 18 inch trough: 4 inch height, 4 inch width, and 18 inch length. That gives you a 4 by 4 inch cross section for pulling and splicing conductors, with 18 inches of run to work in. It weighs 8.701 lb, so a single installer can hang it without help.

It is a NEMA 12 enclosure, which is the indoor rating for protection against falling dirt, circulating dust, lint, and dripping or light splashing of non-corrosive liquids, including drip-proof coverage over oil and coolant. That suits machine shops, food plants, and process areas indoors. It is not a NEMA 4 or 4X rating, so do not use it outdoors or where it will be hosed down directly.

The seal comes from a seamless poured in-place gasket, so there is no gasket joint to leak at a corner. The cover is hinged and held down with heavy-duty hinges and screw clamps, meaning it swings open and stays on the trough while you work instead of ending up on the floor or lost. That is the practical difference from a screw-cover trough, where the lid comes off entirely.

It ships with welded external mounting feet, so it bolts straight to a wall, panel, or strut with no extra bracket kit to order. The feet are outside the enclosure body, which keeps the mounting fasteners out of the wiring space and preserves the NEMA 12 seal.

It carries CSA C22.2 certification, so it is recognized under the Canadian standard for enclosures and can be specified on Canadian jobs as well as US work.

This is a seamless, gasketed NEMA 12 body, so conduit openings are made in the field to suit your run. Punch or hole-saw the 14 gauge steel where you need it and use gasketed hubs or sealing locknuts to keep the NEMA 12 rating intact. Any unused opening you create has to be closed with a rated plug.

Body and cover are 14 gauge steel finished in gray. 14 gauge is the heavier end of what gets used on wireway, so it takes conduit hubs and repeated cover cycling without oil-canning. The gray finish matches typical industrial panel and enclosure work.
