1) What does a Crouse-Hinds C-body Condulet do that an LB or T body doesn't?
A C body is a straight-through pull point: conduit enters one end and leaves the opposite end in line, with a removable cover in between for pulling and splicing wire. The Crouse-Hinds Form 7 C Condulet is the shape to use when you need access on a straight run, not a direction change. If you need to turn the run, an LB, LL or LR is the body for that; if you need a third entry, a T body is.
2) What conduit sizes does the Form 7 C Condulet come in?
Threaded hub sizes run 1/2 inch, 3/4 inch, 1 inch, 1-1/4 inch, 1-1/2 inch, 2 inch, 2-1/2 inch and 3 inch. The hubs are tapered pipe thread for rigid or IMC conduit, so the trade size you order has to match the conduit you are landing in it.
3) Can I use this conduit body in a Class I hazardous area?
No. The Form 7 C Condulet is rated for ordinary, non-hazardous locations only. For a classified area you need an explosionproof body such as a Crouse-Hinds GUA or Appleton Unilets series built for that classification.
4) Is a NEMA 12 conduit body okay outdoors or in a washdown area?
NEMA 12 covers dust, falling dirt and dripping non-corrosive liquids, which is an indoor industrial rating. It is not a rating for wind-driven rain, hose-down or submersion, so for outdoor or washdown work you want a body with a NEMA 4 or 4X rating and the matching gasketed cover.
5) What is the difference between the Feraloy and copper-free aluminum versions, like C57 vs C57 SA?
Same C body, different casting. The plain catalog number (C57, for example) is Feraloy iron alloy, the heavier and more impact-resistant choice for general industrial work. The SA suffix (C57 SA) is copper-free aluminum, lighter and preferred where weight matters or where copper content is restricted. Every size from 1/2 inch through 3 inch is offered in both materials.
6) Does a C17 Condulet come with a cover and gasket, or do I order those separately?
Body only. Catalog numbers without a suffix, like C17 or C67, are the casting alone, so you add the cover and gasket to close it out and get the NEMA 12 seal. If you want it packaged complete, order the CG SnapPack version instead, for example C17 CG.
7) Which sizes of this Condulet are available as a SnapPack?
The CG SnapPack configuration is offered in 1/2 inch (C17 CG), 3/4 inch (C27 CG), 1 inch (C37 CG), 1-1/4 inch (C47 CG), 1-1/2 inch (C57 CG) and 2 inch (C67 CG), all in Feraloy iron alloy. At 2-1/2 inch and 3 inch the C body is body-only, so plan on ordering covers and gaskets separately for those two sizes.

Keep in mind the body itself is only part of it: conduit body volume and conductor fill still have to be sized for the wire you are pulling.
