A dummy pair is fixed trim. There is no latch action, no key, no cylinder function, and no thumbturn behind it. It goes on the inactive leaf of a French or patio door pair, or on a slab that is held by a flush bolt or shootbolt operated elsewhere. The active leaf takes a keyed or operating trim. If your door needs to lock or latch from this handle, the dummy is the wrong part.
