1) Does the Emtek 1631 multi point trim include the multi point lock mechanism?
No. The Emtek 1631 is trim only: plates, handles, and cylinder. The multi point mortise lock box has to be sourced separately, normally matched to the door manufacturer's existing gearbox. If your door already has a working multi point lock and you only want new hardware on the face, this is the right part.

Configuration #6 refers to the hole pattern in the door for the trim: on the 1631 the cylinder hub sits BELOW the lever. The 1631 is built for a Configuration #6 prep with 3-5/8 inch center-to-center between the cylinder and the lever, cylinder below. 4) What do I have to specify when ordering the Emtek 1631 trim set?
Five things. Handing (right or left), lever style from Medici, Napoli, Octagon, or Padua, finish in Flat Black Bronze or Medium Bronze, keyway (Schlage standard or Weiser WR5), and your keying preference (keyed different or keyed alike, with an optional key code). Door thickness can also be supplied so the cylinder tailpiece length is right.
5) Can I key this Emtek patio door trim to match the Schlage locks on the rest of my house?
Yes. The 1631 takes an American cylinder and is offered with a Schlage keyway as standard, so it can be keyed alike with Schlage-keyed hardware, or keyed to an existing code.
