1) Does the Emtek 1654 multi point trim include the multi point mortise lock body?
No. The Emtek 1654 is trim only, plates and handles. The multi point mortise lock box is not included, so you need the existing lock body in the door or a separate one ordered to match. Buyers replacing worn or dated trim on a swinging patio door keep the lock and gearing they already have and just change the plates and levers.
2) What does Emtek Door Configuration #6 mean on a multi point patio door?
Configuration #6 is the non-keyed setup for a semi-active (inactive) door leaf: fixed handle on the outside, operating handle on the inside. Nobody keys in from outside on that leaf, you open it from indoors. On a pair of swinging patio doors, the active leaf takes a keyed configuration and this one handles the second leaf.
3) Will the Emtek 1654 fit my Pella or Milgard swinging patio door?
Milgard and Pella are the reference door manufacturers for this trim, and it uses a 3-5/8 inch handle-to-cylinder center-to-center spacing with the cylinder position below the handle. Measure the existing plate holes on your door: if that 3-5/8 inch dimension and the below-handle layout match, the trim lines up. The plate itself is 1-1/2 by 11 inches.
4) Do I have to specify handing when ordering this Emtek multi point trim?
Yes, handing is required, right hand or left hand. Because the 1654 has a fixed handle outside and an operating lever inside, the parts are not reversible in the field. Stand outside the door: if the hinges are on your right it is right hand. Door thickness can also be entered so the spindle and screw pack suit your slab.
5) Which lever styles can I put on the Emtek 1654 sandcast bronze trim?
Ten sandcast bronze levers work with it: Aurora, Bryce, Cimarron, Cody, Durango, Lariat, Mariposa, Montrose, Teton and Yuma. Lever choice is part of the order, so pick the one that matches the interior door levers already in the house if you want the patio doors to read the same.
