Trim only. The 1L1M52 set gives you the plates and the handles; the multi point mortise lock box is not included and has to be sourced separately. Order it alongside the gear that is already in the door, or with a new lock body sized to your door. Levers are a separate required selection too, so you are specifying three things: finish, lever style, and handing.

The Melrose trim is built to G-U multi point gear, with a 3-5/8 inch center-to-center between the handle spindle and the cylinder hole, and the cylinder opening sits below the handle. Measure the two hole centers on your existing door: if they are 3-5/8 inches apart with the cylinder low, the trim covers the prep. If your gear uses a different spacing or puts the cylinder above the lever, this plate will not land on the holes.

Non-keyed passage. There is no key cylinder and no lock function in this trim, so it is the inactive or interior leaf of a swinging patio or French door pair. If you need the leaf that locks and takes a key, this is the wrong half of the order and you want the keyed version of the Melrose multi point trim instead.

Handing is required. The trim is ordered right hand or left hand, and it is not field reversible, so a left hand set on a right hand door leaves the lever pointing the wrong way. Stand outside the door: if the hinges are on your right, it is a right hand door.

Euro profile. The plate is cut for a euro cylinder positioned below the lever, which is what most European style multi point systems on swinging patio doors use. The 1L1M52 itself is a non-keyed passage trim, so the cylinder belongs to the door's active keyed side, not this one.

That is a change from older sets, so if you are matching an existing Melrose opening the new lever will sit level and the old one may not.

Nine finishes: Oil Rubbed Bronze (US10B), Polished Nickel Lifetime (US14), Satin Nickel (US15), Pewter (US15A), Flat Black (US19), Polished Chrome (US26), Polished Brass Lifetime (US3), Unlacquered Brass (US3NL), and French Antique (US7). US3NL is living finish brass, it will darken and patina rather than hold its shine, so pair it only with other unlacquered pieces. The Lifetime finishes in US3 and US14 are the ones that stay bright.
