It is built for a large multi point configuration with a 3-5/8 inch center-to-center between the handle and the cylinder hole, and the cylinder sits below the handle. The plates measure 2.9 x 17.5 inches. Measure your existing prep at 3-5/8 inch CTC with the keyhole under the lever before ordering.
3) What kind of cylinder does this Emtek multi point trim take?
It is cut for a Euro profile cylinder, positioned below the lever. That is the cylinder format used on most European style multi point gearboxes, so a US mortise cylinder will not drop in.
4) Is the Emtek 1L1R52 a keyed entry set or passage?
Non-keyed passage. The 1L1R52 gives you lever operation on both sides with no key function in the trim itself. If the opening needs to lock by key, this is the wrong function and you want the keyed version of the same Modern Rectangular plate.
5) Do I have to specify handing when ordering this Emtek patio door trim?
Yes, handing is required: right hand or left hand. You also have to pick a lever style, and there is an optional door thickness field so the spindle and screw pack suit your slab. Get the hand wrong and the lever and plate will not orient correctly on the door.
