It drops into a standard residential bore: 2-1/8 inch cross bore with either a 2-3/8 or 2-3/4 inch backset, and the two grips mount 5-1/2 inches center to center. Door thickness covered is 1-3/8 to 2 inches. If your door is already prepped for a common tubular entry set you are usually only matching the backset and drilling for the second grip's fasteners.
2) Which backset do I order for the Emtek 453525?
Backset is a required choice, 2-3/8 or 2-3/4 inches. Measure from the door edge to the center of the existing bore: 2-3/8 is typical on residential doors, 2-3/4 shows up on heavier or commercial-style doors. The standard latch ships 2-3/8, so the 2-3/4 has to be called out on the order.
3) Can I key this Emtek handleset to match the locks I already have?
Yes, within reason. It comes with a Schlage C keyway as standard, and you can substitute a Weiser WR5 cylinder at no upcharge so it keys into an existing Weiser system. Keyed alike or keyed different is selected when ordering, and you can supply an existing key code to have it cut to your system.
4) My entry door is 2 inches thick. Does this handleset still work?
Yes. The 453525 covers 1-3/8 to 2 inch doors, but 1-3/4 inch is what it builds to by default, so anything thicker has to be stated at time of order so the correct spindle and screw pack goes in the box. There is a door thickness field on the order for exactly that.
5) Is this Emtek handleset tubular or mortise?
Tubular. The 453525 uses a bored tubular lock body through a 2-1/8 inch cross bore, not a mortise pocket routed into the door edge. If your door is already prepped for a mortise lock case, this set will not fill that cutout and you would need a mortise handleset instead.

Three sandcast bronze finishes: Flat Black Bronze (453525FB), Medium Bronze (453525MB), and Tumbled White Bronze (453525TWB).
