Grip by grip means you get a full thumbpiece grip handle on both the outside and the inside of the door, instead of an exterior grip paired with an interior knob or lever. On the Greeley 454333 it is a made-to-order custom function, so it is built after the order rather than pulled from a standard configuration. It is a residential-duty tubular entry set, not a commercial lockset.
2) What does double cylinder mean on this Emtek entry handleset, and is there a thumbturn inside?
Double cylinder means the deadbolt is keyed on both sides, so there is no interior thumbturn. You need a key to throw or retract the bolt from inside as well as outside. That is the usual choice where there is glass in or beside the door, but it also means anyone inside must have a key to get out through that deadbolt, which some local codes restrict on a primary egress door.
3) Will the Emtek Greeley handleset fit my existing door prep?
It drops into a standard residential bored prep: 2-1/8 inch cross bore, a 2-3/8 or 2-3/4 inch backset latch, and doors 1-3/8 to 2 inches thick. The grip mounting holes are 5-1/2 inches center to center, so if you are replacing another handleset, measure the spacing between the existing grip screw holes. If your door already has the two standard 2-1/8 inch bores at 5-1/2 inch spacing, no new boring is needed.
4) Which backset do I pick for the Greeley handleset, 2-3/8 or 2-3/4?
Backset is a required selection, and both 2-3/8 and 2-3/4 inches are offered. Measure from the door edge to the center of the existing bore: those are the two standard residential backsets. The set ships with the 2-3/8 inch latch as standard, so 2-3/4 has to be called out when you order.
5) Can I key this Emtek handleset to match the Weiser locks already on my house?
