Emtek 475111 Tuscany Monolithic Grip by Grip Entrance Handleset - Lost Wax Cast Bronze Tubular - Dummy

It's a dummy, non-keyed. The 475111 has no latch and no locking mechanism at all, so it doesn't secure an opening. Grip on both faces, pull only. Use it on an inactive leaf of a double door, on a door held by a flush bolt or roller catch, or wherever you want the look of the entry set without any operating hardware. If you need a working entry door, order the keyed version of the Tuscany handleset instead.

Yes. Door thickness range is 1-3/8 to 1-3/4 inches, with 1-3/4 supplied as standard. Anything thicker than 1-3/4 has to be called out on the order, and there's a Door Thickness field on the order form for exactly that.

The grips are spaced 5-1/2 inches center to center. Since it's surface mounted with no bore, it won't drop onto an existing tubular lock prep, you're fixing to fresh points on the face. Measure your current fastener spacing against 5-1/2 inches before assuming a straight swap.

Handing isn't required. Because it's grip on both sides with no operating latch, the 475111 goes on either a left or right hand door without specifying. That's one less thing to get wrong on a double door order where the two leaves swing opposite.

Two finishes: Flat Black Bronze (FB) and Medium Bronze (MB). Both are lost wax cast bronze from the Tuscany Bronze collection, so they'll live-finish over time. A split finish can be requested on the order if you want one bronze facing the street and a different one facing the entry hall.

It's classed residential, and it's a dummy with no latching or locking, so it doesn't belong on a commercial egress or security opening. Where it does work in a commercial setting is decorative: an inactive leaf, a false entry, or a pull on a door held closed by other hardware. For a commercial entrance you need a keyed, latching set rated for that use.

Grip by grip puts the thumb-style grip on both faces of the door, so the interior looks the same as the exterior. Grip by knob or grip by lever gives you a grip outside and a knob or lever inside, which is what most working entry doors use because the inside trim has to retract a latch. On the 475111 there's nothing to retract, it's a dummy, so matching grips make sense. Pick grip by grip when the door doesn't operate and you want symmetry.

Solid bronze, lost wax cast. Substrate and material are both bronze rather than a plated zinc or a brass shell, which is why the two finishes are bronze tones rather than a painted black. Cast bronze holds up outdoors on an entry, which is where a grip by grip set usually lands.

Grip by grip is a custom function, made to order, and Emtek adds 2 to 3 days of build time beyond the normal handling on the 475111. Plan the door schedule around that if the set is landing at the same time as the rest of the trim package.

No electronics. The 475111 is a mechanical, non-electronic dummy set, so there's no keypad, no motor, no wiring and no battery to maintain. Property managers standardizing a building on access control should treat this as trim only, not as part of the credential system.
