Yes. The 8241 latch covers both common backsets, 2-3/8 inch and 2-3/4 inch, and backset is a required selection on the order. Measure from the door edge to the center of the 2-1/8 inch cross bore and specify the one that matches; 2-3/8 inch is the standard on most interior doors.
2) Do I need to specify handing on the Emtek 8241 STRETTO lockset?
Handing is a required choice, right hand or left hand, and it matters when you pair the STRETTO trim with a lever. Levers are handed because they have to swing down toward the strike side. Knobs aren't directional, but the order still asks for a hand, so stand on the outside of the door and call it from the side the hinges are on.
3) Is the Emtek 8241 keyed, or does it just lock from inside the room?
Non-keyed. It's a privacy function for bedrooms and bathrooms, so it locks from inside the room only, with no cylinder and no key. If you need a keyed entry on the same narrow trim, this model is not it. It's also mechanical, not electronic.
4) What is the difference between the STRETTO narrow trim lockset and a standard rosette privacy set?
The trim shape and the door prep. A standard privacy set uses a round or square rosette on a normal bore pattern; the STRETTO 8241 uses a 2 x 10 inch rectangular plate on a 1-1/4 inch narrow prep with 3-3/8 inch center-to-center spacing. Pick the narrow trim when the stile is too slim for a rosette to sit cleanly, or when you want the vertical rectangular look on a contemporary door. The latch, backset and 2-1/8 inch cross bore are the same as any tubular set either way.

The latch is a 28 degree latch and the faceplate is available round corner or square corner, so match it to the mortise already cut in the door edge. The one thing you still have to choose is the knob or lever style for the trim, since that is ordered separately as part of the set.
