1) Will the Falcon 4155 floor strike fit a different brand of vertical rod exit device?
Treat it as a Falcon part. The 4155 is built for Falcon 19, 24 and 25 Series vertical rod devices, and the bottom rod latch geometry is what decides whether a floor strike catches. If the device on your door is a Von Duprin, Precision or Sargent vertical rod, order that manufacturer's own floor strike instead of this one.
2) Does the Falcon 4155 floor strike work with surface vertical rod as well as concealed vertical rod devices?

The rod is routed differently between the two, on the face of the door versus inside it, but the bottom rod lands in the same floor strike either way, so you order the one part for both configurations.
3) My Falcon vertical rod exit device is not latching at the bottom. Is the floor strike the part I need?

The 4155 is sold as a replacement part, and the floor strike is the piece that takes the abuse in a doorway: it gets kicked, mopped, filled with grit, and it loosens or deforms until the bottom latch skids over it instead of dropping in.
