1) Will a Fernco 22U-205 donut fit a 2 inch no-hub cast iron pipe?
No. The 22U-205 is sized for a 2 inch service weight cast iron HUB, meaning the bell end of hub-and-spigot pipe. No-hub (hubless) cast iron has no bell to seat a donut in, so there is nothing for the rubber to compress against. For no-hub you need a shielded coupling instead. Check the pipe end first: if it is a straight-walled barrel with no flare, this is the wrong part.
2) Does the Fernco 22U-205 work in extra heavy cast iron hub, or only service weight?
Service weight only. The 22U-205 is dimensioned for a 2 inch service weight hub, and extra heavy cast iron has a different hub bore, so the donut will not compress correctly in it. Match the donut to the weight class of the pipe you are actually working on, not just the nominal 2 inch size.
3) Can I use a 2 inch compression donut with 2 inch ABS or copper instead of PVC?
The 22U-205 is specified for 2 in. Schedule 40 PVC. Schedule 40 ABS shares the same outside diameter as Schedule 40 PVC at 2 inch, so the donut compresses on it the same way. Copper is a smaller outside diameter at the same nominal size and will not seal in this donut, so don't substitute it.
4) Do I need any glue, primer, or clamps with a Fernco compression donut?
No adhesive and no clamps. The 22U-205 seals by mechanical compression alone, so the only consumable you may want is pipe lubricant to help drive the 2 inch PVC into the donut. Order the PVC and any solvent cement separately for the joints downstream of the donut; the donut itself takes neither.
5) Can a compression donut be used on a pressure line, or only drain lines?
Drain, waste and vent only. The 22U-205 is a gravity-drainage fitting for joining 2 inch PVC into a cast iron hub, and a compression donut is not rated for pressurized water. If you are on a supply line, this is the wrong class of fitting entirely.
