1) Is Oatey Hercules Climate Smooth soldering paste lead-free and safe for potable water copper lines?
Hercules Climate Smooth soldering flux is a lead-free, self-cleaning formula, and it works with the non-lead bearing alloys used on potable water copper, along with 95/5, 50/50, 40/60 and 60/40 solders. It's a petroleum-based paste flux that dissolves oxides as the joint heats.
2) Will soldering paste flux still spread properly on a winter job site or in an unconditioned attic?
